Cindbad

 Cindbadwas a brave youngman from India , he lived his life in the sea, sailing from one country to another carrying goods till he became rich . Cindbad attended to go in a voyage to ocean to see wonders . Cindbad choosed ten strong sailers to take him . Cindbad sailed for a whole month on the sea. One day, thereb was a wind that nearly drowned his ship but Cindbad could survive with his ship.

 In the next day, he saw a big island so he went to it to have some rest with his men,after he landed on it to discover that it was a huge wheal floating on the water . Cindbad hurried to hisship soit sank and his men died . Cindbad caughta piece of wood and floated till he reached an islnd.

 He slept beside a tree , after a littletime , Cindbad heard a loudvoice and felt that  teh tree is moving.Cindbad looked up andsaw agiantbird on the top of the tree. Cindbad climbed the tree and tied himself to the bird'sle.,after that the bird flew high onthe sky and reached another island with a high mountains.

Cindbadwas walkin on the island , he found that it filled with jewelry and beautiful pearls,. Cindbad gathered the pearls ina big sac and tied it around his waste and started to think how he was going home again,so Cindbad tied himself again on his legs. The bird flew then saw a ship  on the sea. Cindibad jumped fast on this ship.

Goha ' Speech

بيت جحا: مرت بجحا يوما بجنازة، وكان ابنه معه. 
وفي الجنازة امرأة تولول و تقول:الآن يذهبون بك إلى بيت لا فراش فيه 
و لا غطاء ولا خبز ولا ماء. 
قال ابن جحا:والله يا أبي إنهم يذهبون إلى بيتنا

سألوه وكيف مات أبوك؟فقال: أكل خروفا مشويا .

فقال لها : اوصيتني ان احفظ الباب وها انا احمله إليك وقد حفظته جيداً

Once upon a time

There was a chief in

Africa who had three

Sons.He said to himself

‘What a lucky man I am

  To have three wonderful Clever sons,

The chief got older , he began to worry . “ My sons are wonderful boys , but which one ought I pass my kingdom to when I die? He must be the wisest of the three, but there are all clever.How can I find the wisest?..

At last the chief had an idea. He called his sons to him and gave each of them a basket of cowries shells .” Go to the market “ , he said ,” and buy something that represent the best thing in life and something that represent the worst”.

His sons were very puzzled and all of them  decided to go and discuss the matter with friends .

THE First Son was a good businessman and he went  to some merchant friends. ‘ It’s obvious” they said “ the worst thing in the world is poverty and the best thing is wealth." The first son was delighted with these wise words and he simply bought another basket. The basket with the cowries shell represented wealth , the best thing and the empty basket represented poverty, the worst thing in life.

The Second son was always well-dressed and liked good food and beautiful music. He went to some painters and musicians and asked their advice.” There’s no question about it ,” they laughed . “ the best thing in life is beauty and the worst

Is ugliness.’So the young man bought

A golden statue and  a dirty basket.

The third son didn't know what to do either, so he

Decided to discuss the matter with

The matter with as many people

As possible. He talked to elders,

Young men, old women,

Shopkeepers ,beggars and

Craftsmen . Then he went to

A coffee shop and sat down

And thought.

Finally he got up and went to the meat market to get what he needed.

That night , the three sons went to their father and showed him what they had bought from the market. The first son showed the full and empty baskets of cowries shells representing wealth and poverty. The second showed his father the golden statue and the old cup representing the beauty and ugliness. The third son gave his father one thing. Guess! What is it?

The chief open the package which was given to him by the third son. He discovered  simply a tongue from the butcher’s. The Chief was worried, asking his youngest son; how can this tongue represent both the best and the worst thing in life?

The third son said “ this tongue represented the best thing in life . We talk with our tongues. With our tongues we pass on knowledge. We express love, sorrow, joy and understanding .And our thoughts don’t die with us. They can be spoken for future generations.

Chief said: Ah , I begin to understand. Now tell me how this tongue represents the worst thing in life.

Son: Words can be the hardest things of all. People lie, cheat and deceive with words . Words cause fear, hatred and war.

The chief thought about these words , then announced that his third son would be his successor when he died.

              King Goulan was a great king in El Zohor town and has engaged lots of wars with El Kalaa town because its king was injustice man who wanted to take everything. After some time king Goulan defeated king of El Kalaa town with the help of brave leader Raman . King Goulan ordered a great festival for the victory.

             In the festival day , king Goulan was saluting the people with his daughter the princess Set El Hosn  who was a very beautiful girl with a very long hair that was carried by ten maids. The leader Raman asked the king to marry his daughter who he has loved . The king approved because leader Raman was courage and brave.

                      In the wedding day , the king of El Kalaa was making an ambush to kidnap the princess. During the wedding party, the king kidnap the princess  and imprisoned her in a high tower .King Goulan prepared  a great army headed by the leader Raman to save the princess; the army couldn’t enter the town as it was surrounded by a high fens and highly secured guarded.

                  Leader Raman sneaked to the tower and called for the princess and asked her to hang down her hair in order to climb the tower , using her hair. He managed to enter the tower, then he fought all the guards and reached the door of the castle and opened it for his army to enter. 

                Raman and his men entered the castle and fought with the army of the castle till they defeated them. Leader Raman released Set El Hosn and came back safe  to his town El Zohor. King Goulan ordered to decorate the streets and the houses , celebrating the victory and the wedding together.

                The princess was happy to return again to her fiancé . So the king announced that Raman now, will be the husband of his beautiful daughter Set El Hosn and give people money and presents and all the attendances are happily looking at the longest hair in the town which was the cause of the victory.

Once a long time ago, there was a rich man who liked to walk in the moor; so he made a hike in the mountain and took with him all his necessities .He was still walking all day among the beautiful scenery of the mountains and hills; till he was tired .So he sit to have his meal under a tree. He spread a sheet in which  some bread ,

 some vegetables, a jar of water and a slice of meat were arranged .As he was eating, a corbie snatched  the slice of meat and ran away. The man was astonished and followed it, asking himself about the sudden act of the corbie. Why did this bird snatch the slice of meat and where did it go ? the rich man insists on getting the knowledge himself; so, he followed it step by step.

The man climbed the hills and mountains to trace the prints of the bird , till he reached the second part of the mountain. What astonish spot! A Youngman was captured or  handcuffed with chains and he couldn't move. The corbie fed the Youngman  by throwing the slice of meat into the Youngman's mouth.

The rich man was so surprised of this action. He asked himself several questions ; what did this man do in his life? how did he reach to this state? What kind of goodness did he make to let birds fed the young man?

He insists on knowing the truth; so he went to the young man and set him free.

He asked the young man to tell him his story. The young man said happily that one day he went out with a caravan which carried lots of precious good and diamond

; as he was a trader. As the caravan arrived the middle of the way across the desert, group of robbers attacked them and took all goods and diamonds , moreover they killed all the traders .I was inside one of the Haddock of camels and no one could see me , only during their left, they handcuffed me with chains ; my hands with my legs; so I became a prisoner without food or drink. I begged Allah to help me with the hand of mercy and sent me those who  were able to set me free. I was a honest trader. I was always denote with money and corn or food to the needs or the poor people. So, I asked Allah to look at me with the eyes of mercy as He is The Greatest Merciful.

Hence, He sent me This corbie to check for food and drink to feed me and sent you to set me free. Thanks to Allah ( God)  The Great.

The Morals of this story is that Allah is nearer to good doers.

God is always care of His slaves.

Students should work hard and do the right things to bring good result.

Our community should fight robbers and help people to do better to improve their life.

         

The Knight Antara

The Knight Antara 

   Antara Ibn Shadad was a brave knight who didn’t lose any battle. He was so generous that gave money to the poor and defend his tribe against raiders. He loved his cousin ‘ Abella’

           And wanted to marry her ,but her father refused as Antara was black and his mother was a maid.Antara went to his uncle and told him that there are nothing wrong in a man with black skin or a man that his mother worked as a maid, but his uncle refused and told him that he was poor and don’t have any money.

     And if you wanted to marry my daughter , her dowry is about  a thousand camel.Antara proved at his uncle’s condition and travel to king ‘ Noman’s land’ , avery far distance from his home through hardest and heated desert to buy the camels and achieve his proof. When the king watched Antara , he admired his courage and asked him to join the army to fight with him; Antara  approved and fighted lots of wars with him.

After Antara had fighted with the troops of king Noman , the war was ended and king Noman  achieved his victory with the power of Antara and his fabulous courage , he fulfilled his promise to Antara and gave him a thousand camel from the finest ones.

Antara take the camels and went back to his country to offer his present to his uncle and marry his daughter. On his way , Antara faced  sea of sands so, he fell in it and was almost going to die .At this moment , a group of travelersor caravans was going in the same way , they saw Antara , falling in the sea of sands , they hurried to rescue him before sinking . Now , Antara was rescued by the travelers ,so he thanked them for their help. Antara went on his way till he reached his town.

As he returned home , he found that the enemies attacked his town and imprisoned women and children; Antara followed the enemies and fighted them till they escaped and he saved his family and his cousin. Finally, his uncle realized what a brave man he was and how carefully achieved his goal , so he approved on marrying his daughter to Antara.

Antara gave his uncle the thousand camels that he asked and he was happy to held a great wedding party where he offered lots of food and camels meat for the poor to eat.

Antara married his beloved cousin ‘Abella’ and lived happily everafter.

  

Ali Baba Story

       Ali baba is a good man who has inherited with his brother Kasem a lot of money from their father . Ali Baba liked poor people and gave them his money till he became poor, but his brother was cheap saving all his money till he became one of the most rich traders in the town , and became a ministry to the king One day , Ali baba went to his brother Kasem to ask his help and to have some money to deal with it in trade , then pay it back to him.But his brother mocked him and told him that he was the one who has wasted his money helping the poor and the best thing is to go to the jungle and gather wood and sell it to live.Ali Baba  left his brother’s house sad and went to the jungle to gather some some wood .

  Early, in the morning, Ali Baba went to the jungle and got a lot of wood to sell them and to get his food. Suddenly, he saw forty men walking in the jungle and carrying lots of boxes..As he was in the jungle , he saw forty men carrying lots of boxes till they reached a rock in a mountain , a man shouted in front of it “Open Semsem”. Ali Baba wondered and hided to see what was going on, the rock opened and the men entered , after a short time ,they got out again and one of them shouted “close Semsem’, then the rock closed and the men left. Ali baba went to the rock and said “ Open Semsem”  , then the rock opened and Ali baba went inside the cave , he found lots of boxes filled with gold , so he quickly guessed that  they were the gang of forty thieves and this cave is the place where they put all what they steal.Ali baba saw lots of boxes filled of gold and jewels , so he guessed that these men are the forty robberies. Suddenly, he heard the voices of the men coming so he hided behind the boxes. One of the robbers wondered as the door was widely opened, he thought that he might be left it opened. Ali baba was astonished as he saw his brother among the robbers; he heard him saying “ tonight you all will come to the king’s palace as traders with your boxes in which you are in disguise and hidden yourselves inside them , and at the moment of opening them ,you’ll attack the king and kill him  and I’ll be the king instead.Ali baba hurried to the king and told him what he has heard and seen .Soon ,The king ordered his soldiers to be ready during the festival . So during the festival , Kasem entered with the boxes and the robbers as traders , but the king discovered their treason and trickery and the soldiers arrested them and captured the minister Kasem.

             So , the king ordered that all the money of Kasem goes to Ali baba and that he will become the minister of the king instead of Kasem. Now , Ali baba is a rich and happy man as he was honest and has loyality to his nation.

The project Scope

Project Scope

We have spent a long time to collect folk stories till we feel tired and sometime we leave the project for some times because of hard work and the way of collecting and translating them. What we have done inside our project is that we begin with an introduction , then Pre-Launch and Launch the project with some animation , flash and vote and brainstorm. The folk stories we have collect are loved for both children and youths . So, They are mixed of Arabic and English folk stories and we hope to admire you. The famous Arabian folk stories we present as Goha,Cindbad, Ali Baba/ Alaa ElDien,The Knight Antra , Al Shater Hassan, Ibrahim Bin Adham , Thumbnail, woman and Wolf and the wise chief. For the English folk stories , we present Cinderella ,and Snow White the bi fish and the three small fishes .So, What is the purpose of telling stories? And why we insist on presenting them to both children and adult to read.
. It is more benefits than any other thing ,where students can get any information easily. If we apply this way inside schools , students will be more eagerness to accept their new lessons. They can feel relief after heavy work and refresh way of what is coming. Teachers ,parents and all kind of people can relate what they told inside their stories into real actions to make benefits to their schools and community. The main goal is to develop 21st the century skills and to be creative , using modern technology in presenting their show inside schools.
* The standard of our project is suitable for all ages from younger to older.
* The outcomes , we expected is to produce an animation , flash , power point , reports and drawings.
* Students should be able to apply 21st century skills as below:

We collected our ideas and distribute them among the team .So we produce articles , drawings , diagram , survey and lots of researches.

As a team we create power point , documentation and introducing flash about our imaginary and we make blog .

We have made discussion ,survey , calls , emails and celebrate our doings , co operated and helping each other to achieve our goal and finish our project. 
4. Cross –cultural understanding;
We collaborate with other across border or with our partners outside our countries because we have one idea and one goal and we meet together across think quest. Email threads, exchanges (postcards, photos,
videos).
5.Communication;
.To communicate with others We set blogs and emails.
6.Technology;
We have email threads, graphs, real recordings, photographs, physical
models, word processed documents, spreadsheets, graphic files, , 
7.Self-direction;
We have an appointment calendars, library search records, notes, telephone logs, short reflective paragraphs, or to-do lists.
So this great subject should be taught inside the classes and make magazines inside schools as it has great benefits to all communities and humanity.
